Tuca and Bertie Season 3 I Series I HBO Max, Adult Swim

I'm excited to say I'm watching Tuca and Bertie Season 3. As a big fan of Season 1, and someone who HARDCORE binged through Season 2, Im excited to get back into the groove with Ali Wong, Tiffany Haidddish, and Steven Wong's characters-- Bertie, Tuca, and Speckle.

Season 1 left us with some heavy topics; season 2 has done a great job revisiting them and diving deeper into the bigger picture. Now we have season three, with an opening episode that actually surprised me a little bit. We've witness some interesting development with Tuca, the apartment complex, and the history of Tuca and Bertie's friendship, and I'm not entirely sure where this season will take us next.

As a woman, I highly encourage female and female-identifying individuals to take a look at this show-- it really tugged at my heartstrings and contained situations and plot points that I could relate to on a really personal level. It shows what it's like to be a late 20/30-something-year-old navigating some tough life situations and scary leaps of faith.

Watch options are a little odd with this one due to who owns what streaming rights at the moment. Either way, give it a spin; you can watch Season 1 on Netflix and Season 2 and 3 on Adult Swim or HBO Max!

Ms. Marvel I Series I Disney

I would like to start with my deepest disappointment in any MCU fan that is sleeping on this show. The series finally is premiering this week and by the third episode it was a toss up of whether Kamala Khan will be returning after her appearance in "The Marvels" alongside Brie Larson.

This series in my opinion is possibly the best marvel series released yet! Which is a bold take up against "Wandavision" and "Loki" but even those shows fell short on their large plots being crammed into six episodes. Ms, Marvel has fun with the plot, the series blend of comedy and drama is fantastic. The family dynamic is one of the best I've seen in television in a while. Each character feels fleshed out and dimensional. My only big critique is that I don't get to see more of Aamir and Tyesha after the wedding. :(

I do enjoy when the new series actually cover how the world of the MCU is changing instead of creating storylines that have nothing to do with each other. Who wouldn't be going to Avengers Con? I love all of the references this show has made to everything that came before.

We need more characters like Kamala Khan in the MCU so please go watch Ms. Marvel, I know were a long way from Tony Stark in a cave but trust me this is exactly where we want this next saga to go.

The Orville & The Orville: New Horizons I Series I Hulu, FOX

Image via Hulu, Getty Images, Ringer Illustration

The Orville is an American science fiction comedy-drama series created by and starring Seth MacFarlane as series protagonist Ed Mercer, an officer in the Planetary Union's line of exploratory space vessels in the 25th century. The show is inspired primarily by the original Star Trek and Star Trek: Next Generation series; both of which it heavily parodies and pays homage to. It follows the crew of the starship USS Orville on their episodic adventures.

I’ve been watching The Orville recently for a blog post (coming soon!) and catching up to watch the newest season called The Orville: New Horizons. As a casual Trekkie and a science fiction nerd, I absolutely love this show! It’s got a lot of charm and can really balance between serious and funny. It’s a great show for people who are interested in trying out a Star Trek series without having to know half a century of background information.

There is so much to love about this series because of its characters! Their development as a team and individually throughout the episodes is really refreshing. My personal favorite storyline is Bortus and his family and their ethical situation with their alien society (I really don't want to ruin the story which is why I'm so vague). Even though we are seeing a lot of different alien societies in this series, there is something very human about every situation the Orville team faces. If you can, check it out on Hulu! I swear it's worth your time.

For All Mankind I Series I Apple TV+

For all Mankind, is an alternate history cold war drama where the USSR lands on the Moon first. This one change further propels the space race advancing the development of both nations' space programs far past our reality.

This show scratches both science fiction and historical itches all at once with all the nail-biting tension and drama to keep you wanting more.

As opposed to hard science fiction, There is something so inexplicably tense about films and TV depicting space in a grounded realistic setting with modern technology. When the smallest thing going wrong can mean sudden and horrible death for our characters, the tension climbs up past the stratosphere.

The space nerds will be at home with some of the most realistic depictions of 1970s space travel on television. History buffs will love following all the small ways the show diverts from our timeline and how the real historical events affect the characters and plot in different ways. It's an entertaining "what-if" take on U.S. history that goes in many interesting directions.

The three-pronged storyline split between the astronauts in space, their families back at home and mission control in Houston is excellently paced all tying into one another so well ensuring no plotline ever grows old.

If you even mildly enjoyed films like Apollo 13, The Right Stuff, or Gravity For All Mankind is a must-watch.

There are 3 seasons available to stream on Apple TV+ — I know the last thing any of us want is to sign up for yet another streaming service but For All Mankind is well worth the free trial.
